When he first told people that he was going to do stand-up comedy, everyone laughed at him! I guess he had a good start! Even before he set stage as a comedian, Imran was already building a name for himself in the fledgling local entertainment scene. By the age of 24, he became one of the most sought-after comperes in Bahrain and shortly after joined Radio Bahrain 96.5 FM as a resident Radio Jockey. He now hosts a popular Monday and Wednesday night show from 6 to 9 pm with listeners from the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain. His comedy career took off when he was given the opportunity to host the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, Bahrain in 2008 where he shared the stage with international comedians Ahmed Ahmed & Maz Jobrani, as well as local and regional opening acts. Since then he has performed with a number of comedy bigwigs from around the GCC. In 2009, Imran set the stage for aspiring local comics to compete for a spot in Arabian Knights of Comedy, a brand created specifically for the purpose of showcasing local talent. A few of the participants went on to become comedians in their own right. Due to his diverse background in music and entertainment, he has been asked to judge a number of competitions such as the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) Talent Show in 2009 and the Buds Battle of the Bands & the K-Factor singing competition. Imran is the first Bahraini that has turned comedy into a full-time career. Besides standup comedy Imran has a great passion for music, long before he set stage as a comedian Imran was well known as DJ Imran and eventually DJ Imran of Radio Bahrain 96.5 FM.
