Biography:

Jessica Pratt is originally from Melbourne, Australia but now lives and works in Dubai, in the UAE. By day, Jess is a music teacher and holds a Bachelor of Primary Education. By night, she is a writer, comedian, improviser, dancer and musician. Jess was recently nominated for four awards at the UAE Comedy Awards (Best Female Comedian, Best New Act, Best Female Improviser and Best Variety Act).

Jess has performed stand up and improv at venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Melbourne and New York. She hosts a weekly comedy night for Dubai Laughing and performs with Dubai’s improv troupe, The Courtyard Players. Jess can often be heard on the airwaves with Dubai Eye 103.8 talking about the comedy and improv scene.

Jess has opened for local and international comedy acts and was recently part of the Dubai International Comedy Festival. She is a regular contributor to the US based online comedy-writing site Comedywire.com, and was recently listed as one of the top 50 writers on the site. She is married to a professional trumpet player and is therefore also skilled at wearing earplugs.
